Dome Keeper

This game has been my goto game in between other games later. It involves managing your time properly to both mine necessary resources for progress, and returning to the dome to fight off incoming waves of enemies.

It started impressively with a good amount of variety in enemy types and have added even more since. Each run (planet?) will have a certain selection so you can plan around them somewhat while still making each run unique, and requiring a different overall plan to deal with.

There's two miner types - the Engineer, which is the more simple inductory type. The Assessor, on the other hand, is more involved and requires mananging bouncing balls to mine, and once upgraded in 3 potential ways, proper use of an ability to get hte most of out of your mining.

four dome types - good variety. enemies come in "melee" and "ranged", the later requiring all dome weapons to have some kind of ranged option.

the mines are near entirely rock you have to dig through, and it gets hard to dig through the deeper you go. you can't see beyond a tile into the rock either, so finding resources isn't simple
